Proof That We’re Not Enduring ‘Unprecedented’ Warming

Proof that we’re not enduring “unprecedented” warmin (Ice Age Now, May 25, 2014):

Are your leaders misguided? Or are they deliberately lying?

“Ancient trees emerge from frozen forest ‘tomb’,” reads the headline in the Juneau (Alaska) Empire. “Retreat of the Mendenhall Glacier reveals the remains of trees which grew more than 2,000 years ago.”

“Stumps from an ancient forest emerged in July from their ice tomb,” the article continues. “Some still have their bark.”

This article by Mary Catharine Martin really caught my attention because many years ago I lived just one-quarter of a mile in front of  the Mendenhall Glacier. My wife and I visited it often, took our dog for walks there, and corralled ice from the glacial lake for our scotch on the rocks. I was wary of ice worms, of course, but I figured the alcohol would kill them. (Young guys are invincible, don’t you know?)

But I digress.

Global warming zealots must have been overjoyed when they read that headline, because to them it’s proof of global warming.

But I see it a different way. I see it as undeniable proof that it has been warmer in the past.

Undeniable proof that it has been warmer in the past

The most recent stumps are between 1,400 and 1,200 years old, says UAS Professor of Geology and Environmental Science Program Coordinator Cathy Connor, who has been tracking the emergence of the ancient forest. The oldest stumps she’s tested are around 2,350 years old. She’s also dated some at around 1,870 to 2,000 years old.

So let me ask you. How is it possible that those not-so-ancient forests could have grown if it wasn’t warmer at the time?

It is not possible.

Those stumps are undeniable proof that it has been warmer in the past; undeniable proof that today’s warming is not unusual or unprecedented.

Ice advances ‘faster than a running dog’

In other areas of Southeast Alaska, tree remains tell stories about other glaciers, Martin continues.

“In Glacier Bay, Connor and other researchers have found evidence of ice advances more than 5,000 years ago. They’ve also documented the glacial advance between 1724 and 1794 A.D. that pushed Huna Tlingit off their land, and written a paper incorporating those cultural and geographic histories. In that paper they cite Tlingit histories recorded by Richard and Nora Dauenhauer as saying that glacier was growing and advancing ‘faster than a running dog.’”

Even today, the Taku Glacier south of Juneau is slowly advancing, pushing live cottonwoods out of the way, says Martin. It’s the only glacier of the 32 glaciers in the Juneau ice-field that is now advancing.

(Let me point out however, that as a whole the Juneau ice-field, which is the fifth-largest ice field in the Western Hemisphere, is growing. See http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/20801 )

It’s a cycle, it’s cycle, it’s a cycle

“It’s an ongoing process,” said Professor Emeritus of Geophysics Roman Motyka. The recession of Eagle and Herbert glaciers is revealing trees of a similar age.

“We’re seeing the Mendenhall wax and wane through time a little bit,” said Connor.

It’s a cycle, in other words.

It’s a cycle, it’s cycle, it’s a cycle, and humans have nothing to do with it.

So let me ask you again.

Are your leaders misguided? Or are they deliberately lying?

Thanks to Rosco Mac for this link

“This  proves beyond dispute that today’s warmth is not anything other than totally within natural changes,” says Rosco.

“Obviously the glacier was FAR smaller than today which proves beyond doubt the climate then was significantly warmer than today.

“If current warming continues it will take hundreds of years if not more for trees this size to re-establish where they once thrived.

“Unprecedented man made warming ?? – BS.

“Unprecedented glacial retreat ?? – BS.

“This is the ‘smoking gun of climate change’ – they’re all lying !!!”

Exposing the global warming con job.

  1. Yeah, come to CA. It has been getting hotter every damn year, we don’t get to enjoy our winters any longer because we don’t get them. Our fire season now exceeds seven months of the 12 month year.
I lived here to enjoy the four seasons, of all four, I hate summer….and that is all we get now.
Sell your stuff wherever you can, but you are not helping a damn thing. It is time to dump fossil fuels for more sophisticated ones, and I am sick of the fossil fuel industry selling this “oh, we are not suffering climate change horseshit”.

    • @Marilyn Gjerdrum,

I do not deny that California is getting hotter every year. The entire planet is massively changing right now. California may end up looking like the Sahara desert, Bavaria may become the new California and the Philippines may end up having a climate like Switzerland today.

Remember how many miles the North Pole is moving per year? Then there are chemtrails (that shield the sun during the day, but prevent the heat from escaping during the night!). Fukushima, volcanic activity and HAARP (there are several HAARP facilities all around the planet).

The main natural influence on planet earth’s climate is solar activity.

The fossil fuel industry loves the elite man-made global warming propaganda.

The industry will not suffer if the elitists are able to push their agenda through … the people will.

There is massive climate change all around the planet, but there is no man-made global warming.

Yet, the elitists want us to pay for something we cannot influence at all.

We cannot influence global warming or cooling that is the sun’s business.

However, we can influence the climate locally.

With the same free technology that I would suggest to use for greening the Sahara desert we could make it rain in California as much as nature needs it. No problem.

Yet, this technology cannot override HAARP.

Think that MSM is constantly pushing this aganda for our own good?

We have cars that run on water and there is free energy available for all of us, but the elitists do everything they can to keep free energy away from us and they are not shy in assassinating every one that stands in their way.

And these are the same elitists that promote the man-made global warming propaganda.

This global warming agenda is about enslaving the people even further.

And it looks like they will succeed … again … and we will have to foot the bill.

The elitists play a ‘beautiful’ game of chess, whereas the people seem to be still figuring out how to move the pieces correctly.

We all can probably agree that we have to take our country and our planet back and stop destroying our biosphere.

We have the knowledge, we have the technology to turn this planet into paradise at light speed (that incl. healing all the effects from Fukushima), but we have the wrong people in power (and I am not just talking about our elite puppet government here) that keep us busy fighting over everything they throw at us.

Sadly ‘Divide et impera’ works for them just fine.

  2. It’s not hard to see through all this bullshit. The problem is that there are so many believers. Every time I check comments on any such topics may it be “global” warming or vaccines or any other there is so many people that just blindly believe this bs and the “science” behind it.

I have only one thing to say – if you believe in this so much than make sure the people that represent you take action and make sure the industry becomes more clean.

I don’t want to hear about carbon taxes and footprints. They have the power to change from fossil fuels to any other safe and clean energy and also make sure we produce enough of it. So don’t lecture me about my car polluting or my computer wasting too much of electricity. You created this system in which I have to get to work each day (sorry if I don’t agree with the principle to live my life to work (going and getting to work with public transport takes the remainder of my day)) so you have the power to change it. I’ll drive the electric car any day but you need to make sure I can get it.

And if you’re not ready to do that don’t be a hypocrite and patronize me. You have the power to change things and we have the technology so if you start yapping that we should use less fossil fuels than it’s you who should drive the change.

  3. To my friend at Infinite unknown:
You make great sense to me. I lived in a coastal rain forest for 12 years, and it was by living there I learned how little man has to do with the planet or it’s actions.
Thank you for taking the time to write to me about this….and you may well be right. I do not watch, listen to or read US media, but my degree is in history, not science. I was fortunate that the love of my life was a Cal Tech super bright, and he would not embrace the noise put out by US media, either.
What effect do you think the radiation from Japan, Washington State, and NM is having on CA? I have written some eminent scientists, none of them have bothered to reply to my question. As hot as the radiation is in all three of these places, I have to ask if they are also having a strong effect on warming….at least here in CA.
CA has become a hell hole….it is always hot here. The seasons are gone, the only remaining one is a blistering, miserable summer…..my least favorite time of year.
    Thanks for your good points.
