Russia Launches Two ICBMs, Rebuffs ‘Simulated Massive Nuclear Strike’ As Part Of Military Drill

Russia Launches Two ICBMs, Rebuffs “Simulated Massive Nuclear Strike” As Part Of Military Drill (ZeroHedge, May 8, 2014):

Remember when Putin “de-escalated” and promised the Russian forces were being pulled back from the Ukraine border? That didn’t last long. Fast forward 24 hours, when we learn that the very same Putin oversaw a military exercise involving Russia’s nuclear forces.

  • AEROSPACE DEFENSE FORCES SUCCESSFULLY REBUFFED SIMULATED MASSIVE NUCLEAR MISSILE STRIKE DURING DRILLS – RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTRY
  • NORTHERN, PACIFIC OCEAN FLEET’S STRATEGIC SUBMARINES LAUNCH TWO BALLISTIC MISSILES AS PART OF ROUTINE TRAINING – DEFENSE MINISTRY
  • RUSSIA LAUNCHES TOPOL ICBM, HITS KAMCHATKA TARGET
  • RUSSIAN STRATEGIC OFFENSIVE, DEFENSIVE FORCES IN HIGH READINESS – PUTIN
  • RUSSIAN DEFENSE MINISTER STATES PERMANENT READINESS OF NUCLEAR TRIAD – IFX
  • RUSSIAN FORCES PRACTICE ROCKET FIRE – IFX
  • TU-95MS BOMBER HITS GROUND TARGETS DURING EXERCISE IN WMD – IFX

And from AP:

While Putin said the exercise had been planned back in November, it comes as relations between Russia and the West have plunged to their lowest point since the Cold War over Ukraine.

Putin, speaking from the Defense Ministry’s headquarters where he oversaw the exercise along with leaders of several ex-Soviet nations which are members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, said that the maneuvers involved the military across the entire Russian territory, including the nation’s nuclear forces.

Russian news wires said that the exercises simulated dealing a massive retaliatory nuclear strike in response to an enemy attack. The description of the exercise is unusually blunt, reflecting tensions with the West running high over Ukraine.

As part of the maneuvers, a Topol intercontinental ballistic missile launched from the Plesetsk launch pad in northwestern Russia successfully hit a designated target on the Kura testing range on the far eastern Kamchatka peninsula, the military said.

Two nuclear submarines of the Northern and Pacific Fleets, the Tula and the Podolsk, also fired intercontinental ballistic missiles.

So, what distraction will those who are selling into idiot hands to push stocks higher use today?

  1. Flexing his muscles, Putin is showing the Russian Republic won’t sit by and allow US bullying any longer…..I would be interested to get a clear realistic picture of what the world thinks of this act, no US propaganda.

Bush made the world wonder what happened to America, Obama had the chance to show the world what we could be….instead, he followed Bush’s dreadful precedents and kept up his policies. The reform he promised never happened…..and the world started moving away from the US.
Two nations had called for the end of the US as the world reserve policy, Iraq and Libya…..and both were destroyed. A man named Hugo Chavez, who sent fuel oil for the poor in America while its own government would not bother caused a dynamic change. He launched the first electronic currency which would undermine the US as world reserve currency for the South American Trade Alliance; the Sucre.

For the first time, member nations could trade with each other using their own currencies, leaving the dollar out.
This happened in Summer of 2010. The SATA was tiny, about $500 billion GDP, and it flew under the radar of the US.

Russia and China watching with interest, followed suit, established a trade agreement with each other, using their own currencies, leaving the dollar out. China went on to recruit Turkey, many middle eastern countries, Central and South American countries. All were interested in joining, using their own currencies in trade, leaving the dollar out. The US was printing non stop, it became clear the dollar was being abused as the world reserve currency, and the world was tired of the US bombing countries at will, countries that had done nothing to warrant it. So, much of the world joined.
Even Japan and India joined after another round of sanctions on Iran, a rich and fruitful trading partner for much of the world. Iran, despite US propaganda has become a rich nation thanks to the Iraq war. Iran had been accepting most currencies for years, so were glad to join with their Russian and Chinese allies.
The US gave Japan a pass, whatever that means.
Last year, Australia and New Zealand dumped the dollar.
As it now stands, much of the world no longer uses the dollar. I have been to countries that look at the dollar with contempt, and converting to other nations currencies to buy their stuff is a pain.
Hugo Chavez launched a real war, economic….and he has won. Less than half the world uses the dollar, and the number will continue to rise. Hugo Chavez is dead, but his victory will continue for years to come.
Hugo Chavez has shown the world the idea of any world reserve currency is obsolete…..electronic currencies make it possible for all nations to trade with their own currencies/
This is why the US is going after Bitcoin. Regardless of the fact BitCoin has nothing to do with the falling status of the US dollar, it is an electronic currency they can attack.
The US is very concerned it’s plans for the New World Order are in the ditch, along with them.
Unless the US wakes ups, and finds some people who have grown up, and can lead with the national interests in mind instead of greedy corporations, it is finished.
    We will soon know.
