Meanwhile, Gazprom Sends Ukraine A New Invoice (ZeroHedge, April 30, 2014):

As the day of the IMF’s release of funds to Ukraine draws near – solving all their problems with yet more debt, we are told to believe – Russia’s Gazprom has gently reminded the Ukrainian government that it owes them… $3.49 billion! and its due the 7th day of May!

  • *GAZPROM SAYS UKRAINE OWES $3.49B FOR GAS AS OF APRIL 30

As Bloomberg reports,

Gazprom preliminary estimate includes bill for natgas supplied in April, spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov says by e-mail.

The deadline for monthly payments 7th day of next mo., according to supply contract

Gazprom estimates Ukraine’s overdue debt through March at over $2.2b

Ukraine imported ~2.6bcm of natgas in April, Bloomberg calculations based on data from Russian Energy Ministry’s CDU-TEK unit; gas valued at ~$1.3b, based on current price charged by Gazprom

Gazprom raised price for Ukraine to $485/kcm as of April 1 vs $268.50/kcm

Just how is Washington going to cope when all it’s “aid” is flushed straight through to the nation whose economy it is trying to cause “costs” to via sanctions…?

  1. Don’t believe the IMF belongs to Washington, it doesn’t. The IMF, ECB, and the FED are all held by bankers, not nations. This type of banker has no allegiance to nation or race, just to profit.
Right now, the FED is keeping the US national debt current. It pays about 80% of its debt each month, to keep the US national debt current.
What will happen when the FED stops paying the US national debt? The US is in a very precarious position, and it belongs body and soul to the greedy banks.
Russia, unlike the US is taking the bull by the hands right now. It let the Russian Central Bank fail last week rather than go deeply into debt to save it. I wish the US had done the same in 2007. Putin also raised interest rates to 7.5%, making his country a far more attractive place for rich people to park their money.
Every move he makes is to benefit and stabilize Russia. Pity the US doesn’t have leaders who care what happens to their own nation, instead of the moods of the greedy guts who own them……….We get nothing from our greedy leaders, Putin is building a strong foundation for the Russian economy and its people. If they have a recession right now, they will get out of it. Their leaders have their marching orders, serve the Russian community, not just greedy guts.
Meanwhile, the foolish sanctions put on Russia have caused many rich Russians living abroad to move their money home so Obama can’t steal it. The higher interest rate is an added incentive……and money is pouring into Russia while it leaves the US.
They can try painting him black, but it won’t fly. Time for US leaders to grow up and face the realities, stop listening to US news that isn’t propaganda and obfuscation.

  2. This is SO DISGUSTING. I had to send it along.
What kind of BS is this?
What a friggin’ ripoff! These jerks think they are kings……and when the Queen of the UK goes on vacation, she spends her own money……or she did the last time I checked. I was a very tiny child when she was crowned, and my mother let me stay up, saying I might not see another coronation in my life. So far, she was right.
This story enrages me beyond belief. We have no services to deal with the radioactive shit from Japan, no services to deal with the dead animals, or anything to help the people who sicken……..but we pay outrageous sums like this for these two jerks?
