  1. It won’t work because our civilization is in sharp decline, not growth. All of this depends on an evolving power grid and system that is state of the art. We don’t have that, and money that could go to rebuild our infrastructure, grow our economy and build opportunities for nations to earn wealth instead goes to corporate enriching wars. The only growth in the western economy is debt.
Most of the real wealth of the world is in the hands of a few people, there is no sense of nation. It is unsustainable, and it will fall apart. There is no growth, this is all based on gambling and number games.

I would be far more worried if this were 1945 with 50 years of incredible growth and invention ahead of us. We were the #1 emerging economy with growing MFG base, technology, medicine, education and a strong middle class. We are not there any longer, a shell of our former selves. It takes lots of growth to support such a system as the writer envisions, not just money games and paper shuffling.

Robot solders? At how much per machine? How difficult would it be for an enemy power to capture them, steal the technology, and turn them back on the creators. We are not gods.
I remember when I stood in front of a 4000 year old pyramid. The engineering was so precise, every stone fitted together so well that one could not slip a business card between them. The technology, math and science that went into creating that bespoke a strong civilization. Our time isn’t the first time man has developed complex civilizations. But, it takes a strong national economy to sustain them.
These civilizations always vanish, often with no record of their existence, save a few ruins. We seem to be a species that goes so far, then collapses.

Perhaps they did as we have done, invented thing beyond their abilities to control them as we did with nuclear power.

Look at Fukushima. Since the explosion, the ongoing radiation disaster continues unabated. We have no technology in existence to shut it off. It is poisoning our air, water, soil and entire atmosphere. This man made radioactive volcano continues. Now, glaciers are melting at amazing rates, far more quickly than calculated. Sea levels & temperatures are rising at rates not seen before. I think Fukushima is contributing greatly to this growing disaster.
Nobody wants to discuss Fukushima, it is the mountain in the middle of the room. Perhaps these ancient civilizations had their own version of Fukushima, and they vanished as a result.
Such a system as this article envisions takes far more wealth than we now enjoy. The endless wars that enrich corporations at public expense has bankrupted us.
