Cesium measured from school lunch ingredient in Niigata, west coast of Japan (Fukushima Diary, Aug 29, 2012):

Your child may be forced to eat contaminated food for school lunch

Cesium was measured from ingredient of school lunch. The school is in Niigata, on the west coast of Japan.

On 8/29/2012, Niigata city government announced they measured 13 Bq/Kg of cesium from spinach. It was a sampling test of school lunch ingredients.
The spinach was from Gunma prefecture, it may have been used for school lunch for nursery school, elementary school or junior high school in Niigata city. The sample wasn’t used for school lunch supposedly.

The board of education in Niigata prefecture comments, 27 local governments conduct radiation check of school lunch ingredients, but it was the first case to detect cesium.
