  1. The television reporting of this reminded me of the reporting on the BART tunnel protest. In that instance, what was _completely absent_ from the reporting was the reason for the protest, the fatal shooting of a handcuffed man lying face down on the ground. The reporting revolved around the shutdown of cellular service and prominently featured some geek with a cardboard phone saying “can you hear me now?”

    “This may be off, but I also think this may be a way of redirecting the anger from the real issues that brought the protesters together. By channeling the anger toward policemen, people will start calling the police the problem, the police will hate the protesters for hating them, and eyes turn away from the financial terrorism that is causing all this.
    I thought this when “Anonymous” (which I think is a CIA creation) posted the info on the policeman who did this. Ahhh, I thought, they are giving Americans someone to hate-so they won’t look at the real issue.”
