Fed Cuts Fed Funds Target Rate to 2.0%

The Federal Reserve has announced that it has cut the Fed Funds rate by 25 basis points to 2.0%.

This is the 7th cut in the target fed funds rate since September 18, 2007. It has resulted in annualized money supply growth of 12.6%. Before the current round of rate cuts started, the target rate stood at 5.25%.
